It was too late - everything was too late. For years now he had dreamed the world away, basing his decisions upon emotions unstable as water. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Anthony Patch quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
In 1913, when Anthony Patch was twenty-five, two years were already gone since irony, the Holy Ghost of this later day, had, theoretically at least, descended upon him. Irony was the final polish of the shoe, the ultimate dab of the clothes-brush, a sort of intellectual "There!" - yet ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Anthony Patch quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
He found that the business of optimism was no mean task. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Anthony Patch quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
Anthony Patch had ceased to be an individual of mental adventure, of curiosity, and had become an individual of bias and prejudice, with a longing to be emotionally undisturbed. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Anthony Patch quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
As the high mountains are intersected by deep valleys, as puritanism in one age begets infidelity in the next, as in many countries the thickness of the winter's ice will be in proportion to the number of the summer musquitoes, so was the keenness of the hostility displayed on this occasion in proportion to the warmth of the support which was manifested. As the great man was praised, so also was he abused. ~ Anthony Trollope
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Trollope
Bandini looked at a patch of blue in the east.
'Pretty soon we'll have spring', he said.

I reckon a man in a tight might let Bill Varner patch him up like a mule, but I be damned if the man that'd let Anse Bundren treat him with raw cement aint got more spare legs than I have. ~ William Faulkner
Anthony Patch quotes by William Faulkner
Landscaping is the great cardinal sin of modern architecture. It's not your garden, it's not a park - it's a formless patch of grass, shrubbery and the occasional tree that exists purely to stop the original developer's plans from looking like a howling concrete wilderness. ~ Ben Aaronovitch
Anthony Patch quotes by Ben Aaronovitch
Two people pass each other. As one looks upon the other's skin color, the other is looking back at their appearance. Both justifying, how better and righteous they are, in their own insecurities. ~ Anthony Liccione
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Liccione
What's in a Wednesday?
You! That's who!
Happy Wednesday. ~ Anthony T. Hincks
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony T. Hincks
A lesson on finding your counterpart.

You will meet people who turn you on physically but who's hearts are different than yours.
You will find people who turn you on and their objectives are different than yours.
You will meet people who are on the rebound and who is looking for someone to patch their pain temporarily.
You will meet people who only like you for what you can do for them and when they find someone who can do more they leave.
You will find people who will tell you anything they think you want to hear but haven't the slightest intention of pleasing you with any of them.
Anyone can tell you they care, but the one who is willing to show you is probably the one you should pay the most attention to. ~ Marlan Rico Lee
Anthony Patch quotes by Marlan Rico Lee
I mean Buckingham Palace has never hired a professional public relations outfit let alone a Madison Avenue type and they would throw up their hands in horror at the very idea. ~ Anthony Holden
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Holden
If anyone were to find out - " I began.
Patch kissed me, hard, but with an amused glint in his eye. "If I get caught, it'll mean the end of kissing you. Do you really think I'd risk that?" His face grew serious. "I know I can't feel your touch, but I feel your love, Nora. Inside me. It means everything to me. I wish I could feel you the same way you feel me, but I have your love. Nothing will ever outweigh that. Some people go their entire lives never feeling the emotions you've given me. There is no regret in that. ~ Becca Fitzpatrick
Anthony Patch quotes by Becca Fitzpatrick
I dont like any of them, because they don't read the books. In Kiss Me Deadly my story is better than his story. Anthony Quinn played in The Lond Wait and he didn't read the book either. ~ Mickey Spillane
Anthony Patch quotes by Mickey Spillane

Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Doerr
I am what I am.........both as a result of people who respected me and helped me, and of those who did not respect me and treated me badly.

Nelson Mandela ~ Anthony Sampson

Without your smile I am lost. ~ Anthony T. Hincks
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony T. Hincks

Dear Lord...patch this work. Quilt us together, feather-stitching piece by piece our tag-ends of living, our individual scraps of love ~ Jane Wilson Joyce
Anthony Patch quotes by Jane Wilson Joyce
I had to educate him that there was no such thing as writer's block, that writers write when they write, and when they don't, they don't. ~ Anthony Kiedis
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Kiedis
In East Bangor, Pennsylvania (population 800), there's a little diner named for the trolley that used to take people to the once-bustling steel town of Bethlehem. The proprietors have adorned the walls with photographs of other local things that are no more. There's one of the East Bangor band, a group of about twenty men and boys, in uniform, in front of a bandstand draped with bunting. There's also one of the Kaysers, a local baseball club, on the day of an exhibition ballgame against the Philadelphia Athletics. These were Connie Mack's A's, which team in those early 1930s featured Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Cochrane, and Lefty Grove. How did a village of under a thousand people manage to have its own band? How did a cluster of slate-belt villages field a regular baseball club, apparently good enough to stay on the same field for nine innings with the Philadelphia Athletics? What ~ Anthony M. Esolen
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony M. Esolen
Homophobia and the closet are allies. Like an unhealthy co-dependent relationship they need each other to survive. One plays the victim living in fear and shame while the other plays the persecutor policing what is 'normal'. The only way to dismantle homophobia is for every gay man and lesbian in the world to come out and live authentic lives. Once they realise how normal we are and see themselves in us….the controversy is over.

It is interesting to think what would happen though....on a particularly pre-determined day that every single gay man and lesbian came out. Imagine the impact when, on that day, people all around the world suddenly discovered their bosses, mums, dads, daughters, sons, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, doctors, neighbours, colleagues, politicians, their favourite actors, celebrities and sports heroes, the people they loved and respected......were indeed gay.

All stereotypes would immediately be broken.....just by the same single act of millions of people…..and at last there would no longer be need for secrecy. The closet would become the lounge room. How much healthier would we be emotionally and psychologically when we could all be ourselves doing life without the internal and societal negatives that have been attached to our sexual orientation. ~ Anthony Venn-Brown OAM
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Venn-Brown OAM
Nothing like being in a dream, then waking up to a nightmare. ~ Anthony Liccione
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Liccione
America's most dangerous export was, is and always will be our fast-food outlets. ~ Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Bourdain
I am grass. I am dandelions. Explanation: grass grows, and it is punished for it. People hate it and cut it, want to form it into a perfect little patch. And when dandelions grow, people rip them out, calling them weeds over flowers.
And I am grass because I was starting to get better. I was starting to grow, and then I got mowed. There is nothing to me now. I am perfect and quiet. I am nice to look at, but I am empty. ~ Lauren Evers
Anthony Patch quotes by Lauren Evers
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will. ~ Robert Anthony
Anthony Patch quotes by Robert Anthony
Garlic is divine. Few food items can taste so many distinct ways, handled correctly. Misuse of garlic is a crime. Old garlic, burnt garlic, garlic cut too long ago, garlic that has been tragically smashed through one of those abominations, the garlic press, are all disgusting. Please, treat your garlic with respect. ~ Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Bourdain
ESPN, is having the ability to foretell future outcomes in sports. ~ Anthony Liccione
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Liccione
From study of known normal brains we have learned that there is a certain range of variation. No two brains are exactly alike, and the greatest source of error in the assertions of Benedict and Lombroso has been the finding of this or that variation in a criminal's brains, and maintaining such to be characteristic of the 'criminal constitution,' unmindful of the fact that like variations of structure may and do exist in the brains of normal, moral persons. ~ Edward Anthony Spitzka
Anthony Patch quotes by Edward Anthony Spitzka
I think that before you take on nation building in your mind's eye as to how it should be, you'd better have a clear understanding if this is doable and will work. ~ Anthony Zinni
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Zinni
On 15 July 2007, I swam across an open patch of sea at the North Pole to highlight the melting of the Arctic sea ice. ~ Lewis Gordon Pugh
Anthony Patch quotes by Lewis Gordon Pugh
He had a pride in being a poor man of a high family; he had a pride in repudiating the very family of which he was proud; and he had a special pride in keeping his pride silently to himself. ~ Anthony Trollope
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Trollope
Self-interest, fear of physical pain, drove him to that grotesque act of self-abasement. Its insincerity was clearly to be seen. He ceases to be a wrongdoer. He ceases also to be a creature capable of moral choice. ~ Anthony Burgess
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Burgess
There are three things I like about cannoli; they are a wonderfully greedy pleasure known the world over, their cameo appearance in The Godfather was made famous by Corleone family capo, "Fat Pete" Clemenza, and they don't use their celebrity status to tell me how to live my life. ~ Anthony P. Mauro, Sr
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony P. Mauro, Sr

Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Lawlor
Lord, by the words of consecration the substance of the bread and wine is converted into the substance of your Body and Blood. All powerful Lord, say over me the word which will change me into You. ~ Anthony Mary Claret
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Mary Claret
I learned a long time ago that the honest and just don't always win. Good doesn't always conquer. Sometimes the bad guys win. Sometimes they win for a very long time, because the masses are afraid to challenge them. ~ Anthony DiFiore
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony DiFiore
When the State withers, humanity flowers. ~ Anthony Burgess
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Burgess
At Madame's suggestion, they lie down in the weeds, and Marie-Laure listens to honeybees mine the flowers and tries to imagine their journeys as Etienne described them: each worker following a rivulet of odor, looking for ultraviolet patterns in the flowers, filling baskets on her hind legs with pollen grains, then navigating, drunk and heavy, all the way home. How ~ Anthony Doerr
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Doerr
The mysteries of germination and flowering and fruiting engaged me from an early age, and the fact that by planting and working an ordinary patch of dirt you could in a few months' time harvest things of taste and value was, for me, nature's most enduring astonishment. ~ Michael Pollan
Anthony Patch quotes by Michael Pollan
Werner, people said I was brave. When my father left, people said I was brave. But it is not bravery; I have no choice. I wake up and live my life. Don't you do the same?" He says, "Not in years. But today. Today maybe I did. ~ Anthony Doerr
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Doerr
Writers are rarely their own best critics, nor are critics. ~ Anthony Burgess
Anthony Patch quotes by Anthony Burgess
Swimming is my salvation. Ask me in the middle of winter, or at the end of a grueling day, or after a long stretch at the computer, where I'd most like to be, and the answer is always the same: in the water, gliding weightless, slicing a silent trail through whatever patch of blue I can find. ~ Lynn Sherr
Anthony Patch quotes by Lynn Sherr
